    A groundbreaking icon in horology, the Santos de Cartier watch boasts a legacy that began in 1904. Born from the friendship of two visionaries—aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont and jeweler Louis Cartier—it redefined timekeeping. Frustrated by the impracticality of a pocket watch while flying, Santos-Dumont shared his dilemma with Cartier, who crafted a game-changing solution: the world’s first purpose-designed wristwatch, the legendary Santos de Cartier.

    NOTE: Although the watch looks neat overall, the bracelet has been well used. There is some stretch in it and one screw is missing (if the bracelet needs to be sized below 18 cm, this won’t be an issue).

    The watch has just been serviced and will fit wrists up to 18 cm in circumference.

    This watch has recently undergone a Cartier service, during which a new movement and a new dial were installed, making it almost like a new watch on the inside. It has clearly been well cared for over the years, as it also received a Cartier service back in 2000.

    As an added bonus, the recent service comes with a 2-year warranty. The watch is offered as a full set from 1989 and will fit wrists up to 17.25 cm.
