Cartier Santos Galbée 2423 2001
The Cartier Santos Galbée is one of Cartier’s most recognisable everyday designs, bringing the original Santos shape into a softer and more refined form. Reference 2423 is the smaller automatic version, measuring approximately 24 x 35 mm, with the characteristic curved case, integrated bracelet and unmistakable Cartier styling. The automatic calibre 077 and date display make it as practical as it is elegant.
This particular example dates from 2001 and comes as a full set, including its original box and papers, together with the original receipt. It was serviced in 2009 and has just been serviced again, giving the watch a very reassuring service history.
One of the most interesting features of this example is the eroded dial. The dial has developed a unique appearance over the years, giving the watch additional character and a genuinely individual look. Rather than looking like every other Santos Galbée, this one has its own story written into the dial!
