Breitling Top Time Premier 790
The Breitling Premier ref. 790 is a wonderful example of Breitling’s early chronograph history. Dating back to the 1940s, this is a watch from a completely different era of Breitling, long before the brand became known for its modern aviation watches.
The 35 mm case houses a manual-winding Venus 150 chronograph movement, with the classic two-register layout and tachymeter scale. The proportions are beautifully balanced, and the combination of the compact case and vintage chronograph design gives the watch an incredible amount of character.
What makes this particular example especially interesting is its very unusual black service dial. The black dial gives the watch a completely different appearance from the more commonly seen silver, champagne and light-coloured examples of the ref. 790.
