Cartier Lady Gondole 78085
This is the Cartier Gondolo PARIS Ref. 78085 from the Louis Cartier Collection, launched in 1973. It was a period when Cartier wasn’t interested in playing it safe, but in exploring form and proportion. The 27mm case feels just right on the wrist (elegant without trying) and it’s rendered entirely in 18k yellow gold. The shape is the real story here: softly curved but clearly defined, with a stepped bezel and a cushion-like silhouette that feels thoughtful, restrained, and quietly confident.
The dial is classic Cartier, done properly. Clean white, sharp black Roman numerals, a clear chemin de fer minute track, and gold sword hands that do exactly what they’re supposed to do. “PARIS” sits at 6!
It has been recently serviced. It also comes with a booklet from a Cartier service carried out in 2000, clearly a very well-cared-for watch!
