Heuer Monaco 1533G Steve McQueen
In the 1960s, Jack Heuer, great-grandson of the brand’s founder, played a key role in developing new models like the Carrera. As automatic chronographs gained popularity, Heuer partnered with Buren, Dubois Depraz, and Breitling to create the world’s first automatic chronograph movement, the Chronomatic Caliber 11, launched at the 1969 Basel Watch Fair.
Around the same time, Jack Heuer embraced a revolutionary square waterproof case developed by Erwin Piquerez. This led to the launch of the Heuer Monaco—an avant-garde, square-cased, water-resistant automatic chronograph.
In 1972 the Caliber 15 was used in models like the Monaco 1533B and this 1533G. This version had a running seconds subdial at 10 o’clock!
NOTE: The blue dial is a restored dial. This watch also comes with the very rare grey dial. Please refer to the photos to get an accurate impression of the condition of the watch and the dials.
(GREY DIAL: Please note there are small dents between the 1 and 2 o’clock position and between 8 and 9 o’clock. While they are not very noticeable when worn, they are visible.)
