Crafted from a single block of ceramic, the matte casebody showcases an unprecedented fusion of rubber and ceramic, forming a distinctive unidirectional bezel. The bezel’s first 15 minutes feature a vibrant blue rubber injection, while the rest boasts the precision of Liquidmetal™. Even the OMEGA logo on the crown and helium escape valve symbol are adorned with blue rubber accents.
The black ceramic dial stands out with a GMT ring, blue Arabic numerals, and brushed hands and indexes made of 18K white gold, enhanced with a white Super-LumiNova coating. OMEGA’s innovation continues with an oriented caseback, ensuring the engraved wording is perfectly aligned, thanks to the patented ceramic Naiad Lock.
Delighting in the details, the screw-in caseback displays an alveol pattern, while the black rubber strap features blue stitching and an anti-bacterial treatment. With a water-resistance of 60 bar, the Planet Ocean “Deep Black” is powered by the OMEGA Master Chronometer calibre 8906. LIQUIDMETALTM
Since 2010, OMEGA has bonded its ceramics with an alloy called LiquidmetalTM, which offers new decoration possibilities in a metal grey colour with superior scratch-resistance and enduring stability. Composed of titanium, zirconium and copper, this amorphous alloy is three times as hard as stainless steel. When bonded with ceramic parts, LiquidmetalTM can be offered in contrasting finishes (brushed or polished), thanks to the difference in hardness between the two materials.
