The Zenith Daytona is the modern Valjoux Daytona. Everyone knows vintage four-digit Daytonas are blue-chip collectibles, and modern ceramic models are impossible to find at retail. The five-digit Zenith-powered 16520s are no longer under the radar — collectors are chasing them hard!
Launched in 1988, the ref. 16520 marked a new era with a 40mm steel case, sapphire crystal, glossy dial, and the legendary Zenith El Primero automatic movement, heavily reworked by Rolex. Produced for just over a decade until Rolex introduced its first in-house chronograph in 2000, these watches are already scarce!
The example we’re offering is a coveted “Patrizzi dial,” a rare variation. Dating to 1995 (W-Serial), it features golden-toned registers, ivory tritium hands and markers, a strong case, and an Oyster bracelet (78390, 503B Endlinks and Clasp Code W5 78390). A true collector’s Daytona!
