Tudor Black Bay Heritage 79220N
The Tudor Black Bay 79220N is one of those modern Tudor references that has quickly earned a following among collectors. This particular black version was produced for only a very short period around 2015–2016, making it considerably rarer than the later Black Bay models. It is instantly recognisable by the Tudor rose logo and the curved “self-winding” text on the dial, which gave these early watches their famous “Smiley” nickname.
The 41 mm stainless-steel case houses the reliable automatic ETA 2824 movement, offering around 38 hours of power reserve. The black aluminium bezel, domed sapphire crystal and 200-metre water resistance give the watch plenty of tool-watch character, while the gilt details on the dial and hands add a warmer vintage touch.
This example dates from 2016 and comes as a full set. It has just been serviced and the bracelet fits wrists up to approximately 20 cm in circumference.
